Are pets allowed? Absolutely! However, Tierra Vista only allows 2 pets (besides those in cages or aquariums) per household, with the exception of puppies/kittens up to 8 weeks of age.

Is there a breed restriction for the housing area? Yes, certain breeds are restricted from military family housing at Los Angeles AFB. Any percentage of the following breeds listed is prohibited within Tierra Vista at Los Angeles AFB: Pit Bull, Pit Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier. American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Chow Chow, Presa Canario, Cane Corso, Doberman Pinscher, Neapolitan Mastiff, and/or Wolf or Wolf Hybrids.

For residents in housing on or before September 19, 2007, these animals listed above will be “grandfathered” if the resident had this type of pet and it was documented in their resident file.

Is there a pet deposit? Yes, there is a $200 pet deposit, which must be paid in full at time of move in or if you acquire a pet after move in you must notify the Community Management Office immediately so a Pet Addendum can be enacted and pay the $200 pet deposit.

What is the pet deposit used for? When you move out, Tierra Vista will utilize the pet deposit to pay to have the home de-fleaed, deodorized, professionally steam cleaned and pet treated to protect future residents from possible health hazards, regardless of how long the pet was there. Tierra Vista will arrange for these services. The normal expense is approximately $200.
